This tool lets you search for a property or address, view satellite imagery, and draw directly on the map to measure your project. Draw a freeform shape or rectangle to calculate square footage and acres — useful for lawns, gravel areas, driveways, patios, mulch beds, topsoil areas, sod, and paver patios. Or trace a path to calculate linear feet — useful for fences, French drains, and retaining walls.
You can measure multiple separate areas or runs in one session, select or unselect individual measurements to control the total, and edit or delete any shape before finishing. When you're done, use the measured total directly in the relevant YardCalc calculator below to plan material quantities.

Area vs. Distance — Which Should I Use?
Use Measure Area when your project is priced or ordered by square footage — a lawn, a gravel pad, a patio, a mulch bed, or a driveway. Use Measure Distance when your project follows a run or line — a fence, a French drain trench, or a retaining wall.
Why Measure Multiple Areas or Runs?
Real projects are rarely one simple shape. You might have several separate landscape beds, more than one gravel zone, a fence with distinct sides, or a French drain with more than one branch. Drawing each one separately and selecting only the ones you need keeps your total accurate instead of forcing one connected shape across areas that aren't actually connected.
Accuracy & Limitations
This tool is designed for preliminary project and material planning — getting a solid estimate of square footage, acreage, or linear feet before you order materials. It is not survey-grade and shouldn't be treated as one.
Measurement accuracy can be affected by satellite imagery alignment, tree or roof coverage that obscures part of a property, features that are hard to see clearly from above, how precisely you place each point while drawing, and the age or resolution of the available imagery.
For construction staking, legal property boundaries, boundary disputes, or any work requiring certified measurements, use on-site measurement tools or consult a licensed surveyor.
